Questions
Can it do square feet?
Yes. Set Settings → Units to Feet + inches and areas read in square feet. US plans in feet and inches →
What about L-shaped or angled rooms?
Use Odd shape and place a point at each corner. The area and every side length update as you go.
What if the plan is scanned?
It opens. Set the scale by tracing a length you know, then measure freely. Corner snapping needs a vector PDF, the kind exported from CAD.
How exact is it?
As exact as the drawing and its scale. It is a working aid for planning and ordering: check critical dimensions on site before you cut.
